Digital Strip Chart Recorder
Control Technology offers a unique digital strip chart recorder, CT SCR 80, to the process industry. Most of the strip chart recorders currently in use, are plagued by the doubtful reliability of their writing medium - ink pen, ink stylus, etc. This recorder addresses the reliability issue by using a standard, easily available, rugged and cost effective dot matrix printer as the writing medium. The recorder can be configured to accept any type of input, eg, output from a load cell, pressure transducer, thermocouple, RTD, etc. The analogue signal is digitised using a precision ADC, stored for a specified length of time and plotted once every 30 minutes. The chart is plotted on plain paper using a standard dot matrix printer like TVS NOVO 130, TVS MSP 240, Epson LX 80, etc. The printer will be On only during the printing/ plotting operation. In addition to the parameter being plotted, the chart also provides real time data. The chart length is fixed as 210 mm. This length is defined (default) to correspond to a period of 30 minutes. The user (through keyboard setting) can change the period to any integral multiple of 30 minutes, say for 8 hours
